Swara Bhasker Celebrates 3 Years Of 'Veere Di Wedding' Release; Mocks Trolls, ‘3 Years To The Birth Of An Obsession’ — VIDEO
Veere Di Wedding starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker Sonam Kapoor and Shikha Talsania has completed three years of its release. The film that was based on four friends was pretty popular among the youths. However, the one scene that completely left everyone talking was Swara’s masturbation scene in the film. Netizens not only trolled Swara for the scene but more than the film, the particular scene was the hot topic for many. As she celebrates three years of the film, Swara decided to even mention the naysayers. According to her, it also three years of the birth of an obsession.

Sharing a small clip from the film, she wrote, “3 YEARS (June 01) to the birth of an obsession - my nafrati chintus obsession with my fingers! Happy 3rd to the film that gave rise to an economy: the two rupees per tweet employment guarantee scheme that it seems i launched for my trolls #veerediwedding #sakshislays SO grateful to have been a part of this bomb piece of badassery that only some amazing women, and very cool elevated men could have made! @rheakapoor @ektarkapoor @kareenakapoorkhan @sonamkapoor @shikhatalsania @nidsmehra @ruchikaakapoor @ghoshshashanka #mehulsuri”

Talking about the scene, Swara revealed that she agreed to do the scene on one condition. “I trusted the writers and their intentions. I only wanted the scene to look comic and not vulgar. I told Shashanka Ghosh (director) 'let's go over the top as it will shock people into laughter,’” she told PTI.

Speaking about criticism, “I expected to be trolled for this. There is an inherent shock value to the scene. There are people in our society who slut-shame. I am quite open about things, give my opinion on political issues, so people will not leave any opportunity to attack me but the film is much more than the masturbation scene.”
